Bart’s Journey ...

picture

“Change has been a constant in my life — and a source of growth”

... and how it informed his counselling approach.

Originally from Belgium, Bart Loodts has lived in several European countries, then in Taiwan, and for over 10 years now in Hong Kong.

Trained as an engineer and later earning an MBA, he built a career in large companies, rising to senior leadership roles. Along the way, he worked closely with people from many cultures and backgrounds. These experiences, together with some profound changes in his own life, shaped him deeply and inspired his path toward counselling.

Today, they allow him to connect with and support his clients with genuine understanding and care.

SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

picture

Bart has been practicing mindfulness and compassion meditation since 1993, beginning with regular retreats at Wat Kow Tham in Thailand. Depending on each person’s journey and preferences, he may include mindfulness or self-compassion exercises in therapy sessions. While these practices have roots in Buddhism, Bart’s counselling is not religious but grounded in evidence-based care.

CULTURAL JOURNEY

Bart’s strength is his deep understanding of the challenges that come with navigating different cultures in both personal and professional life. In Hong Kong, this is a reality for many and often a source of stress. By building awareness and acceptance of our values, we can not only embrace cultural differences but also strengthen our self-understanding and confidently affirm our own identity.
